Ford Engineering Group have recently invested in a New Mazak Smooth Quick Turn 250MY. The machine capabilities as an (MY) configuration, the machine features a milling capability and Y-axis functionality along with a standard through-hole chuck, and integral turning spindle motor to process a wide range of parts in a single setup. The Tailstock travel and thrust is controlled by a servo motor. Standard 5000 min⁻¹ and optional high speed 10000 min⁻¹ meet the requirements of a wide variety of materials. The low thrust force ensures high accuracy turning even for small diameter shaft workpieces.
